Amazing ANTIQUE FOLK ART CHRISTMAS CHURCH! Beautiful old handmade wooden model of a church.Complete, rare. My family used this church as a Christmas centerpiece since 1946. Then my family moved hosting family holidays from my grandfather\'s home to my mother\'s home. There is every chance that my grandfather made this himself as he was wiped out in the Great Depression and made objects from found materials until he died in the early 1970\'s. He was an extremely skilled woodworker and much work survived in the family until the newer generations lost interest in such things, including sadly, family history. I put its age as anywhere from between 80 to 95 years old. As to provenance, I would be willing to share my grandfathers name and short bio to the buyer.Ceramic light fixture. Uses vintage 120v Christmas tree light bulb. The bulb has burned out. I found no practical way of changing the bulb (The top roof and bottom base are nailed shut.) Perhaps it was thought that one bulb would be enough; not dreaming that it would survive 80-95 years.The entire church is made of wood (some pieces from old fruit wood crates) and is all original except a piece of the cross, described below.The cross: The single missing piece of wood is the horizontal element of the cross. As you can see, a temporary piece was fashioned and wired to the vertical piece. This piece can be stained and varnished to match the entire church, or a better cross piece could be made.The church measures approx: 24-1/4 inches Tall, 21-3/4 inches Long, 6-3/4 inches Wide.Has some dust, left for the buyer to clean.
