Antique Nippon Hand-painted 1916 Fine Bone China Covered Pedestal Trinket/Ring Box
This Nippon Pedestal Porcelain with lid is very fine and lightweight. It is a hand-painted trinket/ring box made around 1916. Nippon is the native name for Japan. This beautiful decorated porcelain has lovely hand-painted and colorful ornate flower decorations and gorgeous 24K gilt on highlights, scrolling designs and raised beading. This piece has also six small green jewels set in the corners of this unique hexagonal lid! (see photos) The back-stamp wreath with \'M\' in center for Morimura Brothers which later became Noritake. The words \"hand painted and Nippon\", all in green, indicate pieces stamped with this color were made from 1911-1921. This trinket box is in near perfect condition with no marks, cracks, fading or repairs. It has one very tiny surface chip on gold painted trim on edge of lid. (see photo) This piece looks like it is brand new with no sign of usage outside and in. The inside has no marks, scratches or signs of use! (see photos)**106 years old!**
