BEAUTIFUL NATIVE AMERICAN PEN OR PENCIL BASKET / BOX DIMENSIONS About 8 1/4\" x 3 1/2\" x 2 1/4\" DESCRIPTION Wonderful Native American sweetgrass and ash splint basket. Lidded basket for holding pens, pencils, trinkets, jewelry, etc. Probably Penobscot / Abenaki origin, possibly Mi\'kmaq, probably 1st quarter 20th century. Rectangular lidded basket with a ring handle on the lid. FYI, there is an exhibit on currently on display at the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine, showing many similar Penobscot creations.
