《 History of Barringer & Brown's 》

Robert Barringer and Edwin Brown established the mustard company in the early 1860's as "Barringer & Brown's" and started making mustard at their "rock valley mills mansfield" , and packed the mustard in wooden kegs and metal tins which were hand made by their own workers.

In the early 1870s, Robert Barringer introduced decorative tins with the company logos to establish and promote the business brand. At 1889, the metal tin production division was separated from the mustard business as a new company ~ Barringer, Wallis & Manners.

In the early twenty century, Barringer and Brown's mustard milling businesses were sold to Colmans of Norwich. The "Barringer, Willis & Manners" tin company was purchased by "the Metal Box" company in July 1939.
