A delightful Meissen porcelain satirical group of a gallant and an old lady emblematic of Avarice modeled by Kaendler. Gilt and painted in colours, modeled with a wooing gallant kissing the hand of a seated old lady, further with a chest filled with financial bonds and certificates, flanked by a satyr, on shaped grassy base. Marked with blue crossed swords, impressed 110. Made in Germany, c.1880. The figurine Is 6 inches tall. It is in very good condition with an old restoration on the gallant hand.
