Antique Medicine Dr. F. W. Diemer\'s Compound NUX-IRON A Tonic 23 Cents A Box Original Box Unopened 11 Boxes (1868-1926)My father was a physician many years ago. He collected vintage and antique medical equipment and medicines. We will be listing many of these collectable items in our Etsy Shop.We would consider this presentation of antique medicine to be museum quality.This antique medicine is quite amazing. The large box 8 3/4\" x 4 1/2\" x 1\" is filled with 11 individual match box size boxes of NUX-IRON. The bottom 8 boxes have never been opened. Each box has its own set of instructions. The top three boxes have been opening for photos. The graphics are so very cool especially when you consider the age of the antique box and match boxes. This is the only information I could find on Dr. Diemer via the research at the University of Rochester:
Trade card advertising Dr. Diemer\'s Prescription, a remedy prepared by Frank W. Diemer, M.D. (1868-1926), of Springfield, Missouri. Diemer was an 1891 graduate of the McDowell Medical College, St. Louis. Wording on the verso indicating that the remedy was used in \"my private practice,\" that it would be mailed in a \"plain wrapper,\" that there would be \"no stricture\" in the treatment, that it is the \"only strictly confidential treatment for women as well as men,\" that \"All correspondence will be considered strictly confidential\" and that it should specify \"how long you have had the disease,\" suggest that Dr. Diemer\'s Prescription was a remedy for the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.I can not find any information on this \"medicine\".
