Antique Large Heavy ABP Cut Glass Jewelry Dresser Box.

This exquisite antique cut glass jewelry or vanity box from the American Brilliant Period (ABP) is quite large. The top measures 6.5" by 6.5" and is 3" in height. It weighs a hefty 4.53 pounds! The clear glass is deeply cut into a brilliant etched design. It has a silverplated band around the top of the box and the hinged lid. This jewelry box is in remarkable condition for its age, which dates to the nineteenth century. The previous owners donated this gorgeous decorative antique to help troubled boys in Texas. I purchased it and this fine jewelry box has been carefully stored, thereby preserving it in the excellent condition you will receive it. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. The silverplating shows minor wear from age and handling. The glass is exceptionally clear, and the hinge works perfectly. Absolutely gorgeous!
