This antique Japanese Samurai Horse Figurine is a stunning piece of art that depicts the rich culture of Japan. The handmade figurine is crafted with papermache/ fabric with glass eyes, making it a unique and fascinating addition to any collection. The provenance of this piece is not available, but it is clear that it was made in Japan with great attention to detail.

This very old figurine is in good condition considering its age. It stands 8” high & is 8” long. The paper mache body is in very good condition with no cracks or breaks. Possible older repair on back right leg….difficult to confirm. The saddle and one stirrup is missing. 2 Holes on back confirm original saddle missing. Its saddle blanket and elaborate trimmings are in surprisingly good condition. The face is good - ears and mane showing some age. Golden Glass eyes are sharp and solidly affixed. Hooves & tail look good.

This horse may have originally been displayed in a glass case with a rider….we have no records so cannot confirm. However we can confirm this beautiful horse has been in a heated storage environment for 50-60 years and on display prior to that for at least a decade.
