Antique Italian Great Sword Transitional Early 17th C Wired Hilt 41 Inch.

Here is a great item. An Italian Transitional Sword.

It is called a Great Sword. Hand and a Half sword.

The hilt is covered in iron wire. Awesome full Disc or Wheel pommel. Finger guards and sword breaker armor.

No identifying marks. Hand hammered and blacksmith made.

Great antique condition. Some dings, and knocks, on the blade. Looks like it could have been used. Some pitting, and definite discoloration on all surface.

Hilt is 7.5 x 7 inches. Overall is 41.25 inches. Hexagonal section, Double Edged blade with 1.5 inch definite Ricasso. Sharp thrusting point.

Full weight is as shown. Almost 3 pounds. Feels great in hand. But is much better in 2 hands.

Awesome Sword! Transitional, from Medieval European to Early Baroque. In my opinion.
