Pair of Antique Italian Borghese Chalkware Plaster Boy Girl Figures Man Woman Couple.
Beautiful pair of 1950's Borghese figurines. Each measures just over 10 1/2" tall. There are several small chips on the female figurine, and a few minor chips on the male figurine. These were quite expensive when made and have become collectible.
All items have lived a previous life, which is usually visible. Any significant marks, etc. will be mentioned in the listing, but please examine photos closely.
The Borghese cast Chalkware was made in the United States by Niepold's. Inc. in Gaithersbury, Maryland. They produced it from the turn of the century to 1970 when the factory was closed. It were produced by an Italian artist that had traveled to Italy and loved the country so much that he used that theme to produce his Chalkware.
