Up for offer is a very nice antique hand wrought forged iron scytheor sickle pick axe. A recent acquisition from an estate in Annapolis, Md, from a collector of old farming tools. This axe was found displayed on his basement wall alongside some other very interesting tools and equipment. You'll notice this tool's handle has two holds that were drilled through in order to hang it flat against the wall. The iron is painted black, and the wood handle was hand shaped with some patina. The overall length of this tool is approximately 22" in length, and the iron axe head is about 12" in width x about 2-1/2 to 3" wide. A nice interesting, if not rare, piece of farming Americana.
