Beautiful Antique Gräfenthal figurine features a French gentleman in a blue waist coat, floral shirt with gilded accents and striped floral britches.Holding a rose in his left hand and his baby blue tricorn hat in his right. This measures approximately 11\" tall and the base is 4 5/8\" diameter. He\'s in remarkably nice condition considering he was made between 1875 and 1879. The only issue we see is the tip of his left thumb is missing on his left hand and this is not very noticeable since it is hidden behind the rose.
At first,Gräfenthalonly produced tableware, miniature sets for children and a few kitchen utensils, most decorated in the cobalt blue styles, which sometimes included gilding. But unlike many other facilities, they did not simply copy existing designs but rather used their own creativity and started with export fairly early, which was soon rewarded as the first international award was received in 1875 at the Santiago Worlds Fair.
