Up for sale is a fine antique crested German pewter tankard, of cylinder form, with engraved inscription on the lid: "J GV 1798" and with finely engraved family armorial crest, 10 1/8" tall, 5 3/8" base diameter, clearly marked to the bottom inside, in excellent condition.
