Antique German Beer Stein Before Dance by Marzi&Remy c.1890s

This interesting beer stein was made in the late 19th century, it is guaranteed old give or take 10 years. It is made in a very traditional style in tan pottery with decorations hand-painted over the transfer outline.

This stein was produced by Marzi and Remy - one of the most prominent beer stein manufacturers of the Golden Era of beer stein production.

The stein is a part of Marzi and Remy series of copies of the popular paintings of the time. It consists of at least 6 steins with images of the paintings by Franz Defregger, Hugo Kaufmann, Friedrich Prölss, and other German artists specialized in genre paintings of Tyrolean and Bavarian tavern scenes and everyday life. This one is called \"Before Dance\" and depicts a group of people coming into a tavern for a dance evening. Unfortunately I was not able to identify the painter.

There is no manufacturer\'s mark, but this model is known to belong Marzi and Remy - it is the so-called \"black top\" model for the black painted top of the handle. It was only used by MR. This model comes with many different hand-painted decorations, some of them copying Defregger\'s or other popular at the time German artists\' paintings.

The stein features a fantastic ornate pewter lid - a work of art by itself. It is in excellent for the age condition - there are no chips or cracks or any other damage to the body of the stein, only some minor age-related wear..

The stein is large and impressive, standing 10\" tall to the top of the finial, about 0.5 L capacity. I guarantee the authenticity.
