Quite Lovely Electrified (former oil)Lamp

From an old Virginia Estate

Unusual base with Mystical Women ontwo sides

and

Intricate brass at top with brassfooting

Two lights – one upper and one insidelower

Was electrified when I bought it fromthe estate several years ago

The top is slightly bent and missingone prong that holds the glass stack shade, yet the shade rests fine. The purple stackshade is a replacement as it had no shade when I purchased it.

A clear shade could replace the purple should one want.

The rim has the expected small chips that come from the brass top being removed to fill when it was an oil lamp. If these lamps do not have the small chips, they are likely not originals. Chips absolutely do NOT show when the brass is in place.

The lamp with shade is approximately22” high.

I am guessing the lamp is from about1870 – 1890 or so. I have not seen another like it.

It is time to pass this very lovelylamp on to someone else to enjoy.
