For sale is this 19th century British G. & J. W. Hawksley powder flask or bottle in what I assume is brass and copper. It features a pretty raised shell and scrollwork decoration on both sides. Measuring about 7.75 inches long and about 3.25 inches wide and 1.25+ inches deep at its fattest point, this powder flask is engraved with the maker\'s name on the spout, along with a spring shutter and a series of adjustable measures - 3, 2 3/4, 2 1/2 and 2 1/4 drams.
The flask is heavily patined all over and has its share of dings and scrapes. I pressed the shutter mechanism very gently and it feels like it has good spring to it. I don\'t want to do any more for fear of damaging it.

This came from the 1972 estate of my late great aunt, who owned an antique shop in Avilla, Indiana.
