This vintage Sèvres porcelain covered urn is a rare find, perfect for collectors of French pre-Victorian antiques. The oval shape main body the urn showcases the hand painted design, with a size that makes it perfect for display on a shelf or mantle. The piece is signed by Luigi which would appear to be the artist or painter of this urn.

This amazingly beautiful urn which does not have a lid is made of soft glazed porcelain in the Rococo style (Rococo). This soft glazed porcelain is richly painted with gold moriage. On the central part of the vase appears a luxurious picturesque image of courting Lady and her Gentleman suitor. The body of the vase is richly decorated both front and back with paintings of a luscious landscape of flowers and leaves, blossoming branches and a period estate or cathedral type building in the background. The bottom, neck, connecting part of the body of the urn with a stand and the handles of the vase are made of bronze. The painters signature “Luigi” is indicated in the lower right corner of the front image.

On the underside or the urn you will see the tradition double “L” diamond shape in blue and an alphanumeric code letter indicating the date that this urn was created. The letter inside the hallmark indicates the year of creation : L which represents the year 1764. Please note that the urns hallmark has not been authenticated.
