Antique French Ormolu Double Candlestick/Candelabra Pair:

These are a fantastic heavy pair of gilt bronze ormolu candelabra that would have flanked a wonderful gilt bronze French mantle clock. These candlesticks are superb great quality.

The pair are in good order, nice moulding and stunning pierced fretwork.

These kind of workart were first developed in France in the 1750’s to share a space above the fireplace with relatively small highly ornated clocks.

Measures: 34 cm high by 22 cm wide by 15 cm deep.

Each piece weights 1785 grams.
