Product Description
It is truly a masterpiece, a beautiful original, and one of a kind.
Luxurious Charles X period solid silver mass chalice of the first standard (950%). It is in perfect condition, adorned with rich symbolic motifs related to the Eucharist such as wheat sheaves, grape clusters, reeds, and crossed palm branches, representing the martyrs.
This magnificent chalice breaks down into four parts. The vermeil cup is hallmarked with the "au vieillard" guarantee marks for the period 1819-1838, while the other parts have been (re)hallmarked with the Minerva head. The lozenge-shaped master silversmith hallmark belongs to Théodore Tonnelier in Paris.
With an impressive weight of 370 grams, this chalice is an exceptional testament to the craftsmanship and refinement of the Charles X period.
