This antique pair of Vion & Baury French bisque porcelain figurines feature hand painted floral clothing with gilt decorative trim. The figurines are dressed in period attire decorated with fine detail. The lady holds a folded fan with raised decoration. Her apron, sleeve ruffles and floral skirt hem are decorated in gold. She has one foot resting on a large stone as she leans over her yellow and blue basket. The man wears a floral coat and under vest with coordinating knickers. He holds a rose in one hand as he leans along side his basket. Both figures are attached to oval bases that are decorated with natural elements and trimmed with pink and gold.The antique Vion & Baury man figure has light wear on the buttons of his coat. There is also a small chip on the inside rim of his basket. The lady\'s basket has a slight crease just below the cut out. Both baskets have discoloration on the interiors. Otherwise, this antique pair of French Bisque porcelain figures is in very condition, free of additional chips, cracks, repairs and crazing.
The lady figurine measures approximately 10 1/2\" high x 5 1/2\" across the front x 5 1/2\" deep. The man figurine measures approximately 10 1/2\" high x 6 1/4\" wide across the front x 4 1/2\" deep. The porcelain figurines are marked VB for Vion & Baury circa 1850-1899.
