Beautiful 18th century French woven cotton ikat. Always a magnificent rarer find.

This one has the most charming large early hand sewn patch which adds so much character to an early specimen of this nature.

A lovely soft cotton. The threads were dyed and then woven to create it’s gorgeous pattern.

The hue is closest to a chambray blue. Best seen in my last photo on the dress form. Many of the photos seem much darker.

Soft elegant feel.

Condition is overall good for it’s early age. There will be some signs of age. Subtle fiber loss & some breaks at the outer edge. All inherent of early ikats & truly don’t take away from the fineness of this textile.

***Measures~ aprox 42” wide by 60” long.

Excellent in any unique historic project or collection.
