This is a near mint condition Nippon Tumble-up bedside carafe or water pitcher. It is from the early 1900's (before 1921 when the work "Nippon" had to be changed to "Japan") and in excellent antique condition with no chips dings or scratches. It is pale yellow with pink roses trimmed in gold. Marked Nippon - Hand Painted. These were used near bedsides for water in the early 1900's. The porcelain kept the water cool and the cup was placed over the top to keep bugs and debris out. Cup is 3" high X 2.5" in diameter and the carafe is about 7" high X 5.5" at the widest point.
