We are not usually into the sale of coins or medals and the following is unverified information which we have found online.We have priced this item accordingly. It is being sold \"as is\".

Designer: Celebrated French medalist, Louis Alexandre Bottée ( 1852 -1941).

Date: Appears to be from the1900\'s. One other date reference that we found was 1932.

Material: Silver plated metal over bronze.

Size: 1 and 5/8\" (4.1 cm) across, and weighs 36.8 grams (heavy)

Image: A raised image of the helmeted Marianne, emblem of France, and symbol of Liberty and Reason.

There is a great deal of interesting detail. Firstly Marianne herself is shown with a very strong profile, A ribbon tied sprig of laurel is threaded through her helmet. The helmet itself appears to have wings but maybe they belong to the symbolic French rooster which perches between them. Her long hair swirls around in Art Nouveau style. On her collar sits a tiny cherub with a flaming torch. On the right of the image the sun shines its rays and the word ?FRANCE? is inscribed.

At the base, on right, is the engraved signature \'Louis Bottée 00\'.

The reverse has a wreath of laurel and oak leaves, and blank areas which are presumably for This most attractive medal was designed by the celebrated French medalist Louis Alexandre Bottée ( 1852 ? 1941). This medal appears to be dated for 1900. It is made of silver plated metal, probably bronze.

The edge of the coin is stamped BRONZE - very small

The face appears to be very good.

The reverse shows some wear.scratches through in the center - price reflected

There are very small markings along the edge.

Overall in good condition.

Color: Silver. Nice polish
