Stunning antique 19th century slant front stationary box with pull-out writing desk in walnut and oak, c. 1860’s. Made in London. The walnut doors fold outwards revealing tiered compartments for papers and envelopes, ink wells and pens, top holds a removable calendar controlled by knobs for day, date and month. The interior of door holds pens, and paper as well as a removable slate. Below is a handled drawer revealing a full black tooled leather writing desk, both sides opening for additional storage, space for two inkwells, and a removable pen tray. The set includes two antique glass Mosely inkwells, marked Mosley’s Revolving Ink Bottle (red), and Patent London (black). The exterior lock plate is stamped BRAMAH LONDON.
Measures 15” high x 16 3/4" wide x 10” deep and is in overall Excellent condition free of any major nicks, dings or losses, a few minor nicks commensurate with age and use. The ink well lids have still have old ink and need cleaning. There is NOT a key for the lock. Please see all photos. A fine addition to any home or collection!
