This antique teapot from China is a beautiful addition to any collection. Made in the early 20th century, it features a lovely yellow color with Chinese Famille Rose lotus floral motif with medallions decorations in between.
The teapot is made of porcelain and pottery, and has an iron red Ju Ren Tang mark（居仁堂）, a famous hall mark used by the top officials during the early republic of Chine period. (1911-1949). The complex technic of incised pattern on the yellow glaze is complex and difficult to produce, making this piece an unique and significantly differentiate it from other daily wares in early 20th century.
As an original early 20th century piece, this teapot and its decorative motifs and techniques are stereotypical of the early republic period, during that time, porcelain wares made for daily used have been made by JingDeZhen kiln. The imperial kiln had been superseded and privatized for commoners\' production, but porcelain wares of high quality such as this teapot were made in line with the former imperial standard, and its iron red reign mark is an attestation to its origin.
