Antique Disston D 8 Crosscut 28" Thumbhole Hand Saw - 7 ppi -156: $155.99
You are looking at an antique 28" crosscut hand saw with thumbhole grip made in the USA by Henry Disston & Sons of Philadelphia, PA. This beautiful saw is marked right on the Blade with the maker, number of the saw and quality statement. (It's the older mark with the 8 inside the D) It's bold and visible with the naked eye. The blade on this piece sights straight and features a skewed back, a broad tip, and 7 points per inch with all the teeth intact and in good relatively sharp condition. The steel is clean and has a nice patina to it. The handle on the piece is Apple and has no splits or cracks but does show usage and finish wear. It has the thumb hole so you can use a two-handed grip. It is held tight to the blade with five brass saw nuts, one of which holds the "H. Disston & Sons - PHILAD'A" deep dish medallion. It dates the saw from sometime between 1878 - 1888.Great for the user or the collector. Free Shipping in the USA. I will ship via Priority Mail as soon as cleared payment is received. Please ask questions before you offer, and I will answer promptly. There is a 30-day return policy if not as described. Thanks for looking!
