Antique Cut Crystal and Gold Vermeil Perfume Flacon:

This charming cut crystal and vermeil hinged-top scent bottle was left to me by an elderly family friend who bought it in Paris in the 1920s. I am unsure as the date is was made but it seems Victorian or Art Nouveau in style. Most likely it was meant to be a "travel" or handbag flacon. There is no marking of the metal content but it is bright gold with a small area of underlying metal showing through on the top of the bottle. It has not tarnished during the 10 years I have had it. It is in good vintage condition, but with several small dents on the top. A refined and delicate pattern has been chased on the gold fitting, clearly done by a skilled craftsman.
