This is a rare antique electrical cap lamp circa 1930’s made by “ Thomas Edison, Inc. WEST ORANGE, N.J.” See photos. It is marked “ PERMISSIBLE ELECTRIC CAP LAMP” with the Dept of Commerce Bureau of Mines Logo. It is sealed with the battery. It has its original electric cord and lamp, with an intact bulb. See photos. The back is marked ‘91” . This is one of the first electric battery operated lamps for miners to wear in the mines. It is sold as is and untested.
