I have collected Antique Christmas Ornaments for 40 years, and have run accross the first, early, original, Blown Glass Kugel, only once. The 2 that I found that day, have always been the stars, of my Christmas Ornament collection.

The first Kugels made, in the 1840s/50s, had a raised Pike, or Lip, with an inserted cork, or wax. A metal wire was inserted into the cork or wax, for hanging. I am offering for sale, a RARE, almost impossible to find, mid 1800s, early Silver, Blown Glass Kugel Christmas Ornament. The original cork or wax was missing, when I purchased it.

The Kugel has the Original, Silver, Mirror Lined Interior. The silvered interior is in exceptional condition. What a treasure. The Kugel measures approximately 5\" diameter. This striking Ornament is in very good condition, with no breaks, chips or cracks. Of course it has the desired. imperfections of blown glass and age.
