I am offeringan estate carved German Meerschaum pipe. First off, I amnot a pipe expert. I will try my best to describe this pipe. It is 11\" longwith a hingedcover and a decorative bezel made of a silver where the stem enters the bowl. The metalappears to be silver; there are no markings and the metal is not magnetic. The hingeoperates and snaps closed on the bowl but wobbles a bit back and forth. The mouthpiece appearsto be made out of bone. The stem is wooden. No apparentteeth marks on the mouthpiece. No cracks;chips or scratches on the bowl. There is a scratch on the top of the lid. Noslits or cracks in the stem. Where the stementers the silver bezel there appears to have been a repair made long ago. Found with thispipe stuffed in the bowl was a piece of paper. It reads: Jan-26-1972 Uncle JosephKopsch & Aunt Lena lived on Dupont Ave. Columbus, O. Uncle Kopsch made atrip to Germany in 1900-The birthplace of Hedwig & Henry-Agnes and William.Some one of our relatives? Gave Uncle Kopsch this merrshaum(sp) pipe. The mostsignificant thing is the crest-COAT OF ARMS S- SCHULZ FAMILY. The letter willof course be included with the pipe. PaymentBack to Top
