Carl Sorensen Arts & Crafts Covered Verdigris Bronze Bowl. Measures 8-14\" tall x 8\" inches wide\". Weight 1 pound and 13 oz. Signed on bottom, but very hard to see unless angled properly in the lightVery Good condition with no apparent wear to the patina, all original. One small ding on side (see last photos).
Carl Sorensen was a metalworker in bronze and copper who had a shop in Philadelphia circa 1914. He produced desk sets and other items in the Arts and Crafts style. The majority of Carl Sorensen\'s work can be easily distinguished from other Arts and Crafts metalwork with his use of a distinct verdigris patina and inlaid bronze bands. Many of Sorensen\'s pieces are marked with his logo of an \"S\" inscribed within a \"C\" and \"Carl Sorensen\" in script. Sorensen was an early competitor of Louis Tiffany but later ended up working as a designer for Tiffany as a designer in the 1920s thru 1930s.
