Antique Buckskin Beaded Native American Santee Sioux Vest Prairie Tribe
Available is this vintage beaded vest. Possibly Santee Sioux, or possibly another Prairie or Woodland tribe - the beading is gorgeous and in great shape. The material is buckskin and still soft, with a detailed beaded flower pattern on both the front and back. It is still wearable - but does have some condition issues. There is some staining and foxing to the leather, and wear, staining and a few small holes to the edging. The edging is silk, and the inside is lined with linen or cotton.
The front is slightly longer than the back at the bottom, and the buttons are mother of pearl shell, but likely there was cord between them as there are no button holes.
Measurements: Front measures 24.5 inches long Back measures 20.5 inches long. Back across the shoulders from armhole bottom to armhole bottom is 19 inches Top of the armholes measures 10 inches across the shoulder
