Antique Bradley and Hubbard patinated cast iron bo0kends of the Temple f Castor and Pollux. The Temple of Castor and Pollux is an ancient temple n Rome, Italy. It was originally built in gratitude for victory at the Battle of Lake Regillus in 495 B.C. Castor and Pollux were the Dioscuri, the "twins" of Gemini, the twin sons of Zeus and Leda. Each is marked on the back withy the Bradley Hubbard stamp and the words "TEMPLE OF CASTOR AND POLLUX". Each bookend stands 5 1/2" tall x 3 3/4" wide x 2" deep. Together, they weigh over 3 pounds. The set is in very admirable, clean vintage condition.
