Very rare large photo of Lenia Rucker, son of Ida Rucker, who passed away in 1901, exactly 1 year before this loving momento was created in 1902. over 120 years ago!. We have never seen another piece like this. Even with its condition issues, it is a great piece. Still housed in its original frame and glass. The glass is missing a corner (lower right) but still sits in the frame nicely without moving around. This piece is roughly 24” x 20”, exact dimensions in photos. Note- we did do some minimal research on the names Lenia and Ida Rucker. The only information we could find that seem to fit the correct time frame was a family outside of Austin Texas. The father, David Rucker, was a Buffalo Soldier during the civil war, after the war he purchased 400 acres outside of Austin and ran a ranch there. He had 12 children, 10 of which the names are documented, 2 of which are not. We imagine that because this child died at such a young age, he may have not been listed as a descendant. The info we found can be seen in our photos. ALSO- note the photo of David Rucker, definitely a striking resemblance to Lenia.
