Antique 19th Century English Mahogany Wood Tea Caddy Box Double Eagle Handles:
The box includes a hand-written letter detailing its history - the letter is not dated, but details that the box was brought overseas from Ferryhill, England to the United States by the author\'s grandmother.
The box is solid and will open and close smoothly, but has some significant wear from age. There are spots of damage to the veneer on the exterior, primarily at the edges and corners. The key is missing, as is the bowl that would sit in the center of the box. The interior appears to have been lined with foil or a similar material at some point; it has partially peeled away and left behind fragments/residue. Some of the wood trim/support pieces in the interior of the center compartment have fallen off, pulled away, warped, or split. I have provided many photos, please review all of them for full details. The box is approximately 12\" by 6\", and 6\" high.
