19th Century Burmese Lacquerware Tray. This rare old style was constructed on a basket weave base and then Lacquered.The primary layers are done in Black Lacquer with the top Finish Coat given a Red Cinnabar Color. Very Traditional. This method of Construction was much stronger than the Lacquerware done over wood! Tray measures 11" in DiameterLip is 1 1/4" with a total height of 2".
