The final British Imperial Conference was held from May 14, 1937 - June 24, 1937. The conference was actually led by King George VI . . . not King Edward III , who had abdicated the British throne in December 1936.
I am ,therefore, guessing that this lovely linen piece , which measures an approximate 34 1/2\" x 32 1/2\" square was carefully hand crafted by a proud English citizen far before the May start of the conference.
All four corners on the crisp white linen mention the - at the time - British Conference Members : Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, and New Zealand, along with King Edward\'s name and the date.
The piece is in excellent condition.
Quite the \"souvenir\" of the event which did not happen according to plan.
Perfect for a small accent table, card table, perhaps as framed art, Anglophile, or interested English Historian.
