Estate shipped to the states from Honnefoss, Norway in the late 1990's. It looks like 2 stacked bowls but it's carved out of 1 piece of wood. Dated 1931 on the bottom by the person who packed up the house, her childhood home. It was made 9 years before the Germans occupied Norway. I wonder if that's why she kept it, as a reminder of her childhood before that happened?

I put the words painted around the rim into Google Translate & this is what I got "Drink like a Man but use your thoughts and speech wisely". There are scuff marks around the rim but it's pretty good considering what it's been thru. Please look at all the pictures. 7" across, 3.5" tall, pedestal base is 4.75" across. Nice bright colors.
