History of Oakland China Studio, Inc:
In 1926 Oakland China Studio, Inc. filed for registration of the mark, \"Silverite\" for use on dishes made of china and dishes made of porcelain. Source: Lehner\'s Encyclopedia of U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain & Clay.
The company was a china decorating studio. Referring to the company\'s Oakland facility, a 1926 issue of The Jeweler\'s Circular states, \"this large plant, located in East Oakland, has a line which consists of over 230 designs in hand-painted china. Richard Fuchs, founder of the studio, invented and patented the Silverite China method, use of apply sterling silver to chinaware.
