This sale is for a pair (2) of antique Lion of Lucerne bookends. Cast iron with their original bronze colored finish. Each measures: 7.25 x 4 inches. The famous monument in Switzerland memorializes the Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution. The broken spear resting on the shield represents the French monarchy. Across the top is printed in Latin, \"Helvetiorum fidei ac virtuti.\" To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss.\" Reverse side states: LION OF LUCERNE. Really nice pair of old bookends for your office or bookcase.
