Antique 1904 St Louis World Fair Brass Champlevé Cloisonne Spoon w/TwistedHandle:
$34.95

This rare antique French (I think) brass spoon features a beautifully crafted champlevé cloisonne design for the 1904 St. Louis World Fair that is truly stunning! This spoon will be a great addition to any antique, World Fair Memorabilia, or spoon collection! This spoon seems to be very rare since I was not able to find another like it after an internet search.
The actual origin and date of manufacture of the spoon are not known, however, this spoon appears to be consistent with other similar spoons made in France in the early 1900's. The spoon appears to be the champleve or cloisonne style where colored enamel is placed within recesses in the brass (or between wiring). I encourage you to research on your own to make sure you agree.
The spoon and handle is about 5" long and the spoon bowl is about 1.5" diameter. The bowl champleve / cloisonne is in excellent condition with no obvious blemishes. The champleve / cloisonne end of the handle with "St. Louis 1904" has some wear of the enamel but not too bad considering its age. The brass twisted handle is in very good condition with aging of the brass that is to be expected for its age. The handle shows a little bent in the pictures, but can be easily straightened. The bottom of the brass spoon has some very minor blemishes that are representative of its age.
Please note that this spoon has been passed down to me from my family (don't know how they got it) and all the information above is based on my internet research.I am not an art or antique spoon expert so I am doing my best to describe what I have and I am not trained to definitely identify this as champleve cloisonne and if this in fact originates from France in the early 1900's.
Please take a close look at the pictures to see the condition of the spoon. Item is sold as is with no returns accepted.
Please click on "Seller's Other Items" for a wide range of other items that I am selling. I have a lot of Lionel Train items now along with decorative plates, easels, vases, Navy Items, and some other things that may be of interest. I can combine shipping to save on cost!
I also have other decorative / collectible spoons and silver flatware for sale!
