This is a piece of early 1900’s American advertising memorabilia , a very rare 1904 Remington Standard Type Writer Crate / Box ! It was specifically made to crate a Remington Standard No 6 Type Writer . The box is in very good vintage condition . The face of the box has bold black writing that says REMINGTON STANDARD TYPE WRITER . There is some slight fading and age related wear but one can clearly read the words. On the back side is a pressed stamped picture of the type writer with the words Remington standard type writer no 6 on the type writer . You do need to have the right lighting to see the pressed stamped picture , I had to use a flash to take a picture of it so it could be seen . With some cleaning and natural oiling for the wood I am sure the image could be enhanced even more . I have not cleaned the box with anything other than dust dusting it off . The box is 19 x 19 x 15.25 . It is made out of a heavy wood and is sturdy ! I added a picture of the original type writer and advertisement in my listing photos to show what type writer looked like . This wooden crate is more than a box it is a reflection of a time in history where typing was an art and a skill, and the Remington Standard Type Writer was the type writer most Americans long for …..
