For sale isa great plate made by Ludwigsburg between 1759 and 1770 . It is hand painted with a superb scene in the center of a landscape with houses in it and a hiker plus a person sitting down and it has some nice trim under the scene in puce, blue and gold. The rim has a basket weave design to it called the Osier relief with some hand painted flowers on it and a nice gold edge. The glaze on these early pieces is so thick that is covers the basket weave design completely unlike most other makers. These scenic pieces are just superb and are among my favorite pieces. The plate is marked with the CC mark under the crown in under glaze blue and an impressed 2 on the foot ring. It is just over 1.125 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. It is in good display condition but not perfect - it has a little wear to the gold trim and from stacking plus one small edge chip but it is minor enough not to distract when on display! It is in great condition with just some very minor wear.
