Antique 18thC KPM Berlin Porcelain Floral Plate Flowers Porzellan Teller Blumen:

For sale is a plate made by KPM during their early years in about 1770. It is nicely shaped with a basket weave design to the paste of the rim and has a large hand painted flower arrangement in the center with smaller flowers along the edge. The flowers are a bit unusual for this period - larger and less refined than I am used to by them - not sure why. Still very nice! This design of the plate is called the Altozier pattern . KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks as is the case here as well. The mark is one of their early fat and short under glaze blue scepter marks and it has the usual impressed marks as shown along the edge by the foot ring. That includes three lines as a size reference. The plate is in good condition with wear and cutlery marks to the central flowers from use and a small edge chip as shown. The plate is about 1.25 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter. 18th century German GermanyIf you like my goodies have a look at my other sales for a lot more top maker pieces like Vienna , Sevres and so on.
