Rare antique circa 18th century, French Faience Bulb Planter 11"L x 5.75W x 5HCondition: AS IS due to repairs around handle areas (please see pictures). Crazing, scabs, use related marks and wear. Despite imperfections the piece looks lovely.The art of bulb cultivating became popular during 17thcentury. Tulips were cultivated from 1600s during "Tulip Mania".Hyacinths were being cultivated at the same time as tulipsduring the 17th century, but their popularity would not begin to eclipse that ofthe tulip’s until the 18th century.
