For sale is a cute figurine made in France or Belgium in about 1770 . I have been trying to figure out the maker and finally found another described by Bonhams as either French or Belgian possibly Mennecy or Tournai so at least that helps a bit. Made of soft paste porcelain the figure is of a lady drummer which is something I have never seen. She is holding a pipe? in her left hand and a drum stick in her right hand with the drum being in front of her. A nicely made figurine and she is hand painted well, too. There are few non obvious issues - the tip of the pipe seems to be restored, the right hand and drum stick are as well. She also has wear to the gold trims. The lady is 3.375 inches tall, 1.875 inches wide and 1.375 inches deep.
