This listing consists of anAntique 1899 LOT of 2 Land Purchases Virginia w/ 4 2-Cent Red Documentary Stamps. Gordon E McLain purchased land from James T Burnett. Believe this to be land McLain purchased in Moneta, VA.
Further research shows that Gordon Ewell McLain was born in 1873 in VA, was married to a lady named Virginia Taylor Minter, he was a farmer & had children living with him when he lived in Staunton, in VA in 1940. McLain died in 1955 at the age of 82 and is buried in Diamond Hill Cemetery. His father served in the Civil War forCo I, 58th Regiment, Virginia Infantry.The merchandise I sell is of superior quality, estate items, vintage items, sold as is and are EXACTLY what you see in the photos and read in our listings.
