For sale is an exceptional antique Rookwood standard glaze vase painted by Carrie Steinle in 1896. An early example from her long career with the pottery company, this vase shows a particularly delicate hand. Cut clover flowers elegantly hang in darkness along the shoulder of the vase, freeing the body to display a rich ombré sienna glaze. The rare 792d Rookwood shape is influenced by Chinese Meiping vases, but retains an original feel. This is a truly unique and rare piece.

Hand initialed by Steinle. Stamped with the Rookwood makers mark with 10 flames indicating the 1896 production year.

Condition is excellent. Light crazing throughout, as is standard with these vases. No chips or cracks.
