This is a unique and collectible historical item. Ignacy Krieger was a Polish photographer who worked in the city of Krakow, Poland and documented it\'s people and landscape in photographs. He took portraits for pay, and also sold carded Carte de visite versions of his photographs at his studio. This is one of the albumen photos glued to cards that he sold. It features a portrait of King Wladyslaw III. It is obviously black and white, and not hand colored like some of his other works. This photo and the others I will have for sale were the property of Lech Orynski, my Great-Great Grandfather, and came to America with my Great Grandmother Marie in 1909 when she immigrated here. The photo does have a slight curl to it, and there is some yellowing of the paper as well as minor staining. Measures 6 1/2\" x 4 1/4\". There are not a great many of these photos around these days, and it will make a wonderful addition to your collection!
