Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique 19th Century Gilbert"Parole" Victorian Walnut Parlor Mantel Shelf Clock with Alarm, made by the Wm. L. GilbertClock Company Winsted Conn USA, Circa 1885. It has a Dark Walnut Wood Case with Ornate Carved Designs and Decorative Top with Applied Side Trim, and Reverse Painted Glass Tablet. The Dial is the Original Paper Over Tin Dial with Roman Numerals and Center Alarm Cutout. It has a Gilbert Brass Mechanical 8 Day "Time and Strike" Key Wound Movement with Nickel Bell Chime, which is Signed "Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted Conn USA". There are 2 Winding Arbors, and It includes a Winding Key and Brass Adjustable Victorian Regulator Pendulum. The Clock measures approx. 19" Tall x 12" Wide x 4 1/2" Deep. The Clock is Fully Wound and Ticks Briefly and Stops. It Strikes Correctly but Needs Service or Attention to Work Correctly. This is Being Sold for parts, Restoration or Repair with Great Potential!
